In the groove kommt für PS2

RedOctane, bislang hauptsächlich als Hersteller von Tanzmatten bekannt wird eine Umsetzung des DDR Clones "In the groove" für die PlayStation2 herausbringen. Bislang ist das Spiel nur als Upgrade für DDR Arcade Automaten erhältlich gewesen.

Mittlerweile hat man auch die Songliste für die PS2 Version bekannt gegeben, zumindest viele Songs daraus . Am Ende sollen es 72 Songs plus 4 versteckte sein.

Preis des Spieles soll 40 US Dollar sein, erscheinen wird es im frühen Sommer.

Konami Files DDR Complaint
In The Groove too similar to DDR, says Konami's lawyers.

Konami has filed a complaint against Roxor Games through the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas over their In the Groove rhythm game, citing infringement of Konami's patent and trademark rights to the Dance Dance Revolution series.

The DDR publisher has also cited unfair competition law in their complaint, and goes on to say, "Roxor Game's refitting of DDR arcade games has been done in an infringing and unfair way."

Dance Dance Revolution's incredible popularity spawned a number of spin-offs and clones in markets around the world, and Roxor Games' In the Groove is simply one of many. In the Groove allows players to download steps online and bring them into the arcade using a USB memory card.
